Download Exness — the minimum set for watching
Watching rather than trading today? Two things do the job: one place where prices are live, and one place to write down what you notice. The rest of this page belongs to a later stage.
Open Exness Account →Not everyone who opens a download page is about to trade. Watching first is an ordinary way to start, and it needs a much shorter list: something that shows live prices and charts, and somewhere to keep your own notes about what they did. Neither part has to be the tool you end up using later, and nothing in the set needs an order to become useful.

What the watching set is for
Watching is a smaller job than trading and it needs a smaller set: one place where prices and charts are live, and one place to write down what you notice about them. The first is whichever surface you will actually open every day — the browser-based Exness Terminal, or MetaTrader 5 or MetaTrader 4 on a computer, where several charts fit at once. The second is not on this page at all: a plain file or a paper notebook keeps its value across every platform you will ever try. Google Play and the App Store are the official app sources; an APK from a third-party site such as apkpure is not recommended for a financial app.
Open an Exness account →The watching set, in two parts
The first part is a live surface: whatever shows the instruments you care about, updating on its own. For watching, the requirement is that it opens quickly and shows the same things every time — not that it carries every feature the platform has.
The second part is a record, kept outside the platform. This is what separates watching from staring: a week of notes is something you can check yourself against, while a week of watching is a memory that quietly rewrites itself in your favour.
There is an optional third part, and it is read rather than installed: the reference pages you will come back to — the symbol specification inside the platform, and the measured tables on this site. Knowing where they are is most of their value.
What makes a watching setup last
It has to come back the same way tomorrow. A layout rebuilt from scratch each session is a layout that gets skipped by the third day, and a habit that survives is worth more than a clever arrangement that does not.
It has to be small. A watchlist of forty instruments is read as a wall rather than a list, and the instruments you actually follow are usually a handful. Anything else can be added the week it becomes interesting.
And it has to wait for you rather than the other way round. A setup that expects to be answered stops being a place you visit and becomes a thing that interrupts, which is the fastest way to stop watching altogether.
What the rest of the list is for
Most of what a full install brings is built for placing and managing orders. None of it is wrong to have and it costs nothing to leave alone; it simply answers a question that has not been asked yet, and it will still be there on the day it is.
A second platform doing the same job as the first is the one addition worth thinking twice about. Two live surfaces mean two layouts to maintain and give the same picture, which is why watching setups get abandoned more often than they get outgrown.
When watching does turn into trading, nothing in the set is thrown away. The notes become the most valuable part of it, because they are the only record of what you expected before there was money in the answer.
Setting up to watch, in the order that saves work
- Pick one live surface and open it. The browser terminal installs nothing; a desktop platform gives more room when several charts have to be visible together.
- Add only the instruments you actually intend to follow, and then stop. The list is meant to be read at a glance rather than scrolled.
- Save the layout so it returns unchanged tomorrow. A setup that has to be rebuilt is a setup that will not survive its first busy week.
- Open a plain file or a notebook and give it one line a day: what you looked at, what stood out, and what you expected to happen next.
- Read the reference pages once — the symbol specification and the measured tables — and note where they live, so that re-reading them later takes seconds.
- After two weeks, read your notes against what the charts actually did. That comparison is the entire point of keeping them, and it is the one part of this that cannot be downloaded.
None of this needs a single order to be worth doing, and none of it is wasted later: the same set is the starting point when watching turns into something else.
The watching set, and what each part is for
| Part | What it does | Where it comes from | When it matters more |
|---|---|---|---|
| A live surface | Shows current prices and charts for the instruments you follow | The web terminal, or a platform installed on a computer | When several charts have to be visible at the same time |
| A saved layout | Brings the same view back without rebuilding it | The platform itself, once the layout is saved | The moment watching becomes daily |
| Your own notes | Turn what you saw into something you can check yourself against | A plain file or a notebook, kept outside the platform | Immediately, and more with every week |
| Reference pages | Answer what a contract is and how a figure was measured | This site, and the symbol specification inside the platform | Before a first order, not after |
| Order tools | Place and manage orders | The same platform, already installed | Only once the decision to trade has been made |
None of the five is device-specific: the same parts work on whatever equipment you already own.
